Today’s legislative issues are becoming more and more complicated and, in most cases, will require implementation through the rule making process.  That is why more and more companies and associations are forming a Regulatory Affairs group.  Similar to a legislative affairs specialist or lobbyist, a regulatory lobbyist specializes in regulatory agencies within the federal, state or city agencies.

In many state capitals, the major agencies and departments are headquartered close to the legislative offices and governor’s office in these cities.  In most cases, the people who decide on legislation reside outside of the state capitals.  They come in for legislative sessions and then leave to go home and work on problems in their geographic area.  One will encounter policy people within each agency or department.  These people are the technical experts and are responsible for drafting the regulations while maintaining the intent of the law.

We can help you determine which agencies will have the most impact upon your organization and what can be done to help you have an impact upon the regulatory process.

Just ask us how.
