Meet one of the Principals of James M. Trammell James M. Trammell is a retired executive with 37 years experience with Sunoco, Inc. As Vice President of State Government Relations, he was responsible for a multi-state political and regulatory support system designed to advance the objectives of the complex business line operations of a Fortune 500 corporation. The experience gained in achieving well-defined objectives has given him a unique and distinct skill set with which to perform the government affairs function. Jim’s talents include a keen awareness for discerning highly significant emerging issues. His approach to these issues clearly demonstrates his strategic thinking capabilities. He sets achievable goals, employing well-conceived tactics and continually reflects on performance milestones through a rigorous auditing process. Masterful at the art of communicating, his firm belief is that successful outcomes are predicated on clear, concise and open communications. His vibrant leadership in coalition building, his attention to detail and his diligence in implementing and shepherding an effort to completion marks Jim as the consummate professional. During his career, Jim was selected by the oil industry association and by broader industry associations such as the Pa. Chamber of Commerce to chair various committees. The diverse experiences gained in committee and coalition participation have provided him national, regional and state perspectives on the government affairs function. As a student of the business of lobbying, Jim has identified the key factors, which he attributes to being a successful lobbyist and builds his team according to those who reflect those attributes. His expertise in the techniques of persuading government at all levels to embrace his client’s position has earned Jim his richly deserved reputation in the government affairs arena.
